Darrell Anderson of West Lafayette, Indiana, has been named the newest
inductee of the prestigious Saddle and Sirloin Portrait Gallery. Anderson’s
portrait will be hung in the historic gallery during the North American
International Livestock Exposition on November 13, 2022, in Louisville.
Formed in 1903, the Saddle & Sirloin Club recognizes significant leaders
in the American livestock industry. Anderson’s list of contributions
to agriculture and the purebred livestock industry is extensive and
diversified. His involvement as a breed secretary, chief executive officer,
judge, auctioneer, and breeder has impacted thousands of lives in
multiple breeds and species. In addition, he hired and mentored an
entire generation of interns and staff, who are now serving in influential
leadership roles, impacting animal agriculture, creating a lasting legacy,
and serving the industry.
In addition to Darrell’s recognition, he and his family have graciously
established a fund to provide sustainability for the future leaders of
the swine and livestock industry and passionate livestock evaluators.
