ATTENTION JUNIOR SHOW EXHIBITORS :


Before submitting entries for the NJSA Winter National, please review the following information:

  1. Complete a separate entry form for each exhibitor.
    1. All information must be completed and proper fees submitted before an entry will be processed.
    2. Entries are nonrefundable.
    3. ALL entries are due by Dec. 12, 2024. Late entry fees double after the posted deadline and fees will triple 10 days prior to the start of the show.
    4. Due to online security restrictions, technical difficulties may occur if submitting online entries from a school, business, or other public domain.
  2. Exhibitor entry requirements:
    1. Exhibitors may enter up to six total gilts, which can include a maximum of two crossbred gilts.
    2. Exhibitors may enter up to six total barrows, which can include a maximum of two crossbred barrows.
    3. Exhibitors must show one purebred for every one crossbred.
  3. NJSA Purebred Influenced Crossbred Division:
    1. Purebred Influenced Crossbreds should be entered as crossbred barrows on entry form and designated for the Purebred Influenced Crossbred division at the show during check-in.
    2. Purebred Influence Crossbreds count towards your total crosssbred entries butdo not require a purebred entry.

  4. Bred + Owned Entries:
    1. Animal Registration number and Owner/Breeder number are required at entry.
    2. Family Certification Formshttps://forms.gle/AmWMofGtpCcFB4BTA must be submitted if more than one junior member is listed as the owner and breeder of the animal on the pedigree.
    3. The Bred and Owned Gilt Show will show separately from the Owned Gilt Show. The Show will occur before the Owned Gilt Show, and in some cases may be the day prior.
    4. The Bred and Owned show will have a separate judge from the Owned Gilt Show
    5. Current rules of qualification for the Bred and Owned division still apply
    6. All Bred and Owned qualified Gilts may also enter the Owned Gilt Show
    7. Entry fees will be $25 for Bred and Owned Show; Entry fees remain $50 for the Owned Gilt show. If you choose to show in both the Bred and Owned and the Owned Gilt shows, then your total entry fees paid will be $75 per head.
    8. All Bred and Owned gilts must check in through the Bred and Owned check-in line. There will be no additions to the Bred and Owned show after the check in process.
    9. All Bred and Owned gilts are now eligible for the top 10 in the breed drive. This is a change from the current show, where only the top 2 in the class placing above 10th were eligible.
    10. Classes will be broken based on age and weight
    11. Bred and Owned Grand Champion drive will be held during the regular Grand Champion Drive
    12. Bred and Owned premier breeder program and points will remain the same as current
    13. The Bred and Owned show is for gilts only.
    14. All Bred + Owned entries are due prior to the show. No Bred + Owned entries will be accepted at the show.
  5. Animal requirements:
    1. All hogs must be born June 1, 2024 or after.
    2. All hogs must be owned by the exhibitor as of December 1, 2024.
    3. All weights on barrows and crossbred gilts are declared by exhibitor. Test scales will be available.
    4. Weight Limit Barrows: 215-290 lbs. maximum with 15 lb. weighback.
    5. Weight Limit on Crossbred Gilts: 375 lbs. maximum (no minimum weight limit) with 15 lb. weighback.
  6. Entry fee information:
    1. Junior purebred barrow and gilt entry fees are $50 per entry (late fees double after deadline and triple 10 days prior to show)
    2. Junior crossbred barrow and gilt entry fees are $50 per entry (late fees double after deadline and triple 10 days prior to show)
    3. Bred and Owned entry fees are $25 per entry (late fees double after deadline and triple 10 days prior to show)
  7. Additional contest information:
    1. While completing entries, exhibitors will have the opportunity to enter in additional competitions. Rules for each contest can be found in online in the NJSA Handbook.
  8. Additional exhibitor information:
    1. Due to space limitations, exhibitors will be provided one pen for every two pigs. Sibling’s pigs will be penned together if exhibiting an odd number of animals.
    2. Exhibitors MUST bring registration papers, certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) and a copy of their YQCA/PQA Plus card or certificate to check-in at the show.
    3. Age divisions for exhibitors will be designated using January 1, 2025.
    4. ALL Animals must be officially identified with a Federally approved, permanently numbered ear tag.
