World Pork Expo Jr. National Entry Form

ATTENTION JUNIOR SHOW EXHIBITORS :


Before submitting entries for the WPX JUNIOR NATIONAL, please review the following information:

 

  1. Complete a separate entry form for each exhibitor.
    1. All information must be completed and proper fees submitted before entry will be processed.
    2. Due to space limitations, NJSA and Team Purebred reserve the right to refuse entries after April 19, 2018 deadline.
    3. Separate entries should be submitted through NSR, CPS or ABA if also participating in the World Pork Expo Open Show & Sale.
    4. Entries are nonrefundable.
  2. Purebred barrow & gilt entry limits:
    1. Limit per exhibitor: 2 entries, per sex, per breed.
    2. Hosted junior show purebred classes include: Berkshire, Chester, Duroc, Hampshire, Hereford, Landrace, Poland, Spot and Yorkshire barrows and gilts.
  3. Crossbred barrow & gilt entry and exhibition requirements:
    1. Each exhibitor MUST show 1 purebred barrow for every 1 crossbred barrow and 1 purebred gilt for every 1 crossbred gilt.
    2. Limit per exhibitor: 2 crossbred barrows and 2 crossbred gilts.
    3. This rule only applies to the junior show and NOT open show.
  4. NJSA Hampshire Sired Crossbred Barrow Division:
    1. NJSA will be hosting a Hampshire Sired Crossbred Barrow Division.
    2. Hampshire Sired Crossbred barrows must be sired by a purebred, registered Hampshire boar.
    3. Hampshire Sired Crossbred barrows should be entered as crossbred barrows on entry form and designated for the Hampshire Sired Crossbred division at the show during check-in. You MUST know the name of the sire and present it at check-in.
    4. Hampshire Sired Crossbred barrow entries count towards an exhibitors crossbred barrow entries (limit 2)
    5. Exhibitors must show 1 purebred barrow for every 1 Hampshire Sired Crossbred barrow.

  5. Animal requirements:
    1. All purebred hogs must be born Nov. 1, 2017 or after.
    2. All hogs must be owned by the exhibitor as of April 19, 2018.
    3. All weights on barrows and crossbred gilts are declared by exhibitor. Test scales will be available.
    4. Weight Limit Barrows: 215 – 290 lbs. with 15 lb. weighback
    5. Weight Limit Cross Gilts: 375 lbs. or less with 15 lb. weighback
    6. ALL animals entered in the World Pork Expo Jr. National are subject to drug testing by the NJSA and/or Team Purebred organizations.
  6. NJSA exhibitor entry fees (Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace, Yorkshire or Crossbred barrows or gilts):
    1. $30 per entry for purebred barrow and gilt entry fees (late fees double after deadline)
    2. $40 per entry for crossbred barrow and gilt entry fees (late fees double after deadline)
    3. $15 NJSA Junior Participation Fee per exhibitor
        • • This fee is applied towards expenses associated with NJSA events.
        • • The participation fee will be paid at each show an NJSA member participates in, excluding affiliate events.
  7. Team Purebred exhibitor entry fees (Berkshire, Chester, Hereford, Poland or Spot barrows or gilts):
    1. $30 per entry for purebred barrow and gilt entry fees (late fees double after deadline)
    2. $5 Processing Fee for EACH Team Purebred pig entered in the WPX Jr. National
      • • This fee is applied towards expenses associated with Team Purebred events.
      • • This does not apply to NJSA animals (Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace, Yorkshire or Crossbreds)
  8. Educational Contest information (showmanship, judging contest, and quiz):
    1. Please check what contests you want to participate in.
    2. Contest fees do not apply to exhibitors showing animals.
    3. If you only wish to compete in a contest and not exhibit animals, the fee is $5 per contest.
  9. Additional exhibitor information:
    1. Exhibitors will be provided one pen for every two pigs EXHIBITED (not entered) at the event.
    2. Sibling’s pigs will be penned together if exhibiting an odd number of animals
    3. Exhibitors MUST bring registration papers, certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) and a copy of their PQA Plus card or certificate to check-in at the show.
    4. Age divisions for exhibitors will be designated using January 1, 2018.
